JOHN BURTON (1966 – )

John Burton is an award-winning oil painter whose work includes portraits, plein-air landscapes, still lifes, and quite a bit more. His influences range from the Russian Impressionists to John Singer Sargent, though he’s been equally affected by the narrative techniques of noted illustrators like N.C. Wyeth and Dean Cornwell.
Most of all, the relentlessly globe-trotting Burton has won accolades for his remarkably vivid depictions of the human community in action, inspired by both his love of diverse cultures and passionate desire to record for posterity our swiftly changing world. -Joshua Mooney (Southwest Art Magazine)
